İSKİ Hosted the Pakistan Delegation

The Pakistan Delegation visited İSKİ to benefit from our knowledge and experience in water management.

İSKİ, the leading utility in its field, continues to share its knowledge and experience with the whole world. In this context, a delegation from Pakistan visited ISKI. The delegation included Team Project Leader of the Operational Design and Business Model (ODBM) Ali Tariq, Secretary General of the Directorate of Local Governments & Community Development (LG&CDD) Syed Mubashir Hussain Shah, Program Director of the Project Management Unit (PMU) Muhammad Hamza Salick, CEO of the Punjab Local Municipal Services Company (PRMSC) Asadullah, Managing Director of the Bahawalpur Waste Management Company Muhammad Naeem Akhtar, CEO of the Punjab Water Authority (Aab-e-Pak) Zahid Aziz Syed and Deputy Secretary-General for Administration of the Local Governments & Community Development Presidency (LG&CDD) Rana Saleem Ahmad Khan.

Within the program, İSKİ General Director held a meeting with the Pakistan Delegation. Expressing his pleasure to host the senior executives of sister country Pakistan, General Director Başa continued his speech as follows:

“As İSKİ, we provide an average of 3 million cubic meters of drinking water to Istanbul every day, and we treat an average of 4 million cubic meters of wastewater per day in our 90 wastewater treatment plants. We supply water to Istanbul not only from the water sources in the city, but also from Melen and Istranca Mountains in neighboring cities. In addition, we are also working in the areas of rainwater infrastructure, stream reclamation, and operation of streams.”

WE ARE WORKING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MASTER PLAN

“Our plans are ready for combating global climate change and drought. In line with the İSKİ Master Plan, we are working to bring new water resources to Istanbul. We also support the widespread of rainwater harvesting. We obtain recycling water from wastewater and use it for irrigation and industry.”

Afterwards, an informative presentation about İSKİ was given to the delegation. The program of the delegation ended with the technical tour to the İkitelli Drinking Water Treatment Plant which treats 800,000 cubic meters of raw water per day.
